FAQs

I have no upper body strength and no dance experience, can I do these classes?

Yes, of course! Upper body strength is not a pre-requisite to start because pole dancing strengthens and conditions your entire body as you learn. You’ll find that after a few classes, you’re moving with confidence and style. As with many forms of dance, your style is completely unique, so there is no right or wrong way to move to the music.

I’ve never taken a pole dance class before. Which class should I take first?
Our Intro to Pole workshops are the perfect class for someone with little or no previous pole dance experience. In that class we work from the ground up, with the first move being how to get comfortable walking around the pole. You got this!

Do you allow walk-ins or is it by reservation only?
We do allow walk-ins, as long as there is space in the class when you arrive. If you don’t want to take the chance of the class being full, make a reservation through our website or give us a call and we’ll get you all set up. Please note that if no one has previously signed up for the class, it may have ben cancelled.

What should I wear?
For all pole classes, show a little skin! Comfortable athletic attire, with shorts that expose two or three inches above the knee. This little bit of exposed skin is crucial to help you climb the pole. High heels are always optional, but we find that many new pole dancers prefer to learn barefoot. Don’t apply any lotion the day of your class, as it will make the pole very slippery! You will be asked to remove rings and bracelets before class.

For chair dance classes, skin exposure is unimportant. Wear comfortable clothes that make you feel good. Heels are great for this class if you have them, but not required.

For aerial fly gym, skin exposure is unimportant as well. Fitted athletic attire is best. In this class you can go barefoot or wear socks.

Where should I park?
There is a municipal parking lot directly behind our building that always has plenty of spots. The entrance to this lot is at 125 Court Street and parking payment is required 24/7/365. There is also street parking in front of our building with street meters.

Do you have showers and/or changing area?
We do not have showers, but we have a changing area and locker room. You’re more than welcome to use the lockers while you are taking class. We ask that all items are removed by the end of the day. We also supply students with fresh gym towels.

Studio Policies

In order for everyone to enjoy our awesome studio space and community vibe, we have just a few important rules:

Late Policy
DO NOT BE LATE. THE DOOR WILL BE LOCKED 5 MINUTES AFTER THE START OF CLASS AND YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED FOR THAT CLASS. We suggest arriving 15 minutes prior to the start of your class so that you are completely ready when the instruction starts.

Pole dancing is strenuous on the body and it is absolutely crucial that you are dressed and ready for class on time so that you don’t miss any of the warm up. Not only is lateness a safety issue, but it is also disruptive to the instructor and your fellow students. We are very strict about this rule and will not make any exceptions, there are reminders on every class confirmation email.

Cancellation Policy
We have a 12 hour cancellation policy. This means that if you cancel out of your class at least 12 hours before the start of the class, that class credit will go back into your account for use on a different class. If you late cancel, within 12 hours of the class time, you will lose the class credit.

Low Attendance Policy
To absolutely guarantee a spot in a class, you must make a reservation online or by giving us a call. We welcome walk-ins, but be aware that if no one has signed up within four hours of the class start time, it will be cancelled.

Expiration Policy
All class packages, studio rentals, and private session credits have an expiration date We will not extend the expiration date unless there is a medical reason with a doctor’s note.

Coats and Bags Policy
All coats and non-essential bags must be left in the locker room. With all the amazing hair flips and heel clacks that goes on in the studio, we would hate for anyone to trip and hurt themselves on the excess in the studio. Please be mindful of everyone's safety when deciding what is essential for your experience.

Studio Rental Policy
We encourage studio rental for personal use (practice, condition, videotape etc.) but be aware that it is not for profit purposes.

Alcohol/Drugs
Absolutely no alcohol or drugs are to be consumed before engaging in any activities at our studio. It is incredibly unsafe to do so. Anyone under the influence will not be allowed to participate and will not be refunded.

Age Policy
Our studio welcomes dancers 18 years and older. We have no maximum age limit! Come dance with us.
